This morning we had some typical french breakfast with croissants and white bread before we went to Monaco. We were not quite sure if we wanted to drive down to that money-eating place, but what the heck, why not. It was easy once again to park the car and walk five minutes down to Port Hercules. I didn't fancy Monte Carlo and just had one coffee before we drove off to Italy. Today I felt for the first time that I wanted to go home. I was tired of the road, it was raining and I just wanted to sleep. Or I might just need the beach or other drugs.
The road to our first real stop in Italy felt like a never-ending story of tunnels and then small roads going up and down in the mountains. Monterosso, first of the five villages of Cinque Terre, was beautiful even though it started to rain again and the dinner was over priced. Now it's time to sleep in the car, to find a place to stay with a reasonable price this late is impossible.
Fun facts: we just passed 5000 km and when I planned the trip I guessed that we would be driving around 10 000 km. So if the next two weeks will be something like the first two then that would be perfect.
